Shasta College Adult Education Cooking Classes

Take Charge of Your Health From Your Kitchen

Learn the basics about nutrition and how to make your kitchen healthier

Gain a deeper understanding about nutrition, the role it plays in your life and how to apply it in your own kitchen. Explore ingredients that are nourishing and support health & wellness. Students will prepare a winter quinoa tabouli salad, seasonal roasted vegetables and a special anti-inflammatory green drink. This class will provide you with the necessary tools to take charge of your health right from your own kitchen, with a focus on a seasonal, whole foods, nutrition based approach.

Seasonal Nourishing Traditions

Bringing back traditions from past generations

Discover traditional cooking techniques from our ancestors designed to encourage health and promote wellness. Learn how to make bone broth and what to do with it, prepare fermented bread, make a traditional beef stew with local grass fed beef. This hands-on class will provide you with an old world approach to cooking, using seasonal ingredients prepared just like your great grandma used to do it, using fresh ingredients that are nourishing and delicious.
